LADY
BRAEA
TILFORD
GREEN
Lady Braea’s path to becoming First Lady was an unexpected journey. She didn’t set out to take on the role, but it feels like a destiny fulfilled. From childhood, Lady Braea’s loved ones recognized her abilities as a natural-born leader. She always felt connected to her inner voice and embraced her light from early on. It was clear that she marched to the beat of her drum.
From a young age, Lady Braea strived to be the best version of herself. Though she didn’t realize it, as a teenager, she would lay the foundation for a life driven by self-awareness and evolution. She credits her parents and God for the confidence and courage to stand out and share her optimistic lens of the world. There was always an affirming voice in her head, which Lady Braea later realized was God’s.
In her early 20s, a spiritual awakening brought clarity. God was ready for her to embark on a journey and use her gifts to serve. At 22, she founded Grow Lead Inspire, a non-profit with a mission rooted in self-discovery and leadership — two values aligned with her fundamental being and purpose. In 2019, Lady Braea felt called to ministry and a year later she met her husband, Rev. Stephen A. Green. This was the full circle moment when she realized their union was integral to the divine call.
Now, as Lady Braea embraces her unique, holistic approach to ministry — one that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit — she is committed to doing the work to continue “becoming” and empowers others to do the same. As a leader of Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York, she wants to expand the vibrant community of women to be inclusive of all ages. She believes that intergenerational connection makes room for even more learning and growth and encourages elders to see that God’s work in their lives is not finished.
Her charge is to peel back the layers projected onto us and uncover the most authentic versions of ourselves. For Lady Braea, the quest to know self is an intentional, sacred act that carries on until we leave this earth.
