Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2
WORKSHOPS
COVERED BY THE COVENANT
Dr. Gina Stewart
The Covenant of God provides us with instructions on life. Even during these uncertain times, God’s word gives us a covering, comfort and reassurance. The key to victorious living is to know the Word, apply the word and then have the faith in God covenant commitment to God’s people. Of course, for many believers this pandemic has called into question the ways of God. As we explore the ways of God and the promises of God, it is our hope in the “God of the Covenant” that helps us deal with the flood of emotions that we cannot always explain.
PRIORITIZING SOUl-CARE
Dr. Danielle Brown
Being intentional about self-care is essential. Rest, vacations, massages and shopping therapy are good, but in vain if your inner self is filled with anger, shame, unforgiveness or emotional trauma. In this season, we must focus on “soul-care” to ensure that we show up in the world as the best versions of ourselves.
COVERED IN SEASONS OF GRIEF
Pastor Cordelia Wallace
So many of us are well acquainted with grief and bereavement. The loss of our activities, worship, comfort and feelings of security have been hard to process. Some would say that this pandemic has stolen the me that I want to be. Even more, the loss of loved ones and close friends has sent many into a sadness and loneliness that is hard to shake. I know that God is covering me, but I am struggling to get through this disruption.
FORGIVING WHAT YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO FORGET
Dr. Cynthia Hale
Mental replays of offenses and times of wounding will come at the most unlikely times. Just when you thought that you were in a good place, you realize that you might need to work a little harder on freeing yourself from the memories and triggers that take you back to the resentment, anger and pain from which you have been delivered.
A STRESS THAT I HAVE NEVER KNOWN
Dr. Carolyn Showell
All of us have had to live under pressure, but of la e, it seems that many are living with a stress that has been intensified by the today’s realities. We are dealing with stress in so many aspects of our lives—relationships, career, children, church matters, finances, racism, political matters, natural disasters, violence and health. Reports that there are toxins in the air we breathe, the food that we eat, and the pharmaceutical products we take can work on our peace. Holy Spirit help us find the peace and balance we need to move through it all.
LIVING GOD'S TRUTH
Sis. Carla Harris
Faith demands that we entrust our whole lives to the God who loves us, calls us, and equips us. We often deal with feelings of inadequacy, insecurity and fear of failure, and that makes us hold back on who we were born to be. We must remember, however, living our truth requires us to live God’s truth, and God’s truth is found only in God’s Word and will for our lives.
COVERED BY THE BLOOD
Rev. Marissa Farrow
Let us explore all of the nuances of the being “covered by the blood.”
